Virtusize, the e-fitting solution we’ve written about a few times – have just announced that they’ve raised a Series A round of D-Ax, a collaboration between the Swedish conglomerate Axel Johnson AB and a group of digital experts, RECAPEX. Virtusize say that the funding will be used to accelerate global expansion and of course help with product development here in Stockholm.
Virtusize is just one of many companies trying to innovate in the “virtual fitting space” – but whilst the space is competitive, Virtusize keep signing up good clients. Monsoon, Acne Studios and Country Attire are the latest online stores to implement the Virtusize solution, allowing online shoppers to ‘virtually’ try on an item of clothing.
Virtusize are looking to expand their 17-person team by one more – and are looking to bring on an intern for Fall 2013 who will be in the Marketing/PR department.
Hyper Island and Stockholm-based fashion startup Virtusize have collaborated on a great marketing video. The video, which clearly takes some inspiration from the Dollar Shave Club video that went viral last year – is a amusing insight into Virtusize and how their ‘virtual fitting-tool’ works.
