Collector Bank Starts $12 million Fintech Fund With NFT Ventures

Written by on April 7, 2016

Collector, Sweden’s digital first bank, starts a new tech fund with NFT Ventures.

Breakit has previously reported on the Collector-founder and angel investor Lena Aplers investments, among them are the fintech company Kollektiva.

Her bank is now taking its own first steps into the world of startups with a new tech fund called Collector Ventures. The new fund is launched in cooperation with the venture capital firm NFT Ventures. As a start the two partners have approximately $12 million (100 million SEK) to invest over the coming two years.

“This is another way for us to develop the leading digital niche bank in the Nordics. Our participation in the development of new fintech companies increases our opportunities to provide the best and most recent solutions to our customers”, Collector CEO, Stefan Alexandersson says.

NFT Ventures has invested in 17 different startups, prior to the new fund. We have for example reported on the VC firm’s investment in the crowdlending platform Toborrow. NFT Ventures’ CEO Johan Lundberg is very happy with the new Collector partnership.

“Collector has claimed the position as Swedens leading bank within digital innovation, and they can see the growth potential in the next generation of bank services. Together we can create the conditions necessary to identify and develop new and exciting fintech companies in Northern Europe”, he says.
