Game developer Star Stable trots into the e-commerce world

Written by on November 20, 2015

The horses in Star Stable’s popular game will soon be available on both pillow cases and shirts when the game developer opens its online store on Friday.

The Swedish video game Star Stable has become a worldwide success with over six million users. The online games takes place in a huge 3D-world where players can go horseback riding together, go out on adventurous quests or just hang out.

But the interest among gamers is reaching beyond the gaming platform itself. Last year, the company published a picture on Instagram from the office which displayed a Star Stable pillow. The reaction from dedicated fans on that post was instant.

“When we have attended expos wearing our hoodies, we have almost had to go back home without them because the interest has been so incredibly huge”, Fredric Gunnarsson, CEO at Star Stable, says.

This has led to the launch of the gaming company’s online store where they sell gadgets and accessories. The e-store has its premiere on Friday, in ten different languages. Apart from the popular pillow case fans can buy hoodies, polo-shirts and t-shirts.

“We are currently designing several Star Stable inspired accessories which will be released before year’s end. Many gamers are huge fans, and to wear a Star Stable gadget becomes yet another way to feel like a part of the game’s community and to bond”

Turnover multiplied many times over last year to $6.5 million and earlier this year business man Claes-Henrik Julander invested in the company.

“The ambition for this year is to double turnover. I’m not sure if we can reach that goal completely but we’re close”, Fredric Gunnarsson says.
