#gbgtechweek is a week full of entrepreneurship and digital development in the Gothenburg. Gothenburg is definitely the place to be during 8-19th of May. There are more than 10 happenings ranging from competitions to networking events. The focus is on entrepreneurship, startups and digital development. All events are open to the public and nearly all of them are free of charge. Some events however demand that you register in advance. Swedish Startup Space has chosen to compile a mini guide to some of the highlights of the week.

Gothenburg Startup Hack

At the heart of the event is the Gothenburg Startup Hack. The hack is a ten hour long session of design and development. 100 people divided into teams of 3-5 have signed up to attend the hackathon. Each team has to develop a prototype of a product. At the end of the day the best prototypes will be voted for. The winning teams will then receive the opportunity to pitch their idea for investors at the Gothenburg Startup Arena event. The hackathon is guaranteed to be filled with creativity, teamwork and a lot of hard work.

Gothenburg Startup Arena

If you are not attending the hackathon but still want to know what went down at the Startup Hack then you should definitely make your way down to Gothenburg Startup Arena @ Kajskjul 8. There will be a prize ceremony where the winners of the Startup Hack are announced, inspiring seminars and an awesome after party. The party is open for everyone and will be sure to be crowded with entrepreneurs and investors alike. If that wasn’t enough to tempt you, Startup Grind will be hosting a successful entrepreneur from Gothenburg and there will be insider tips on what investors are looking for when supporting a startup with capital.

Chalmers Innovation Demo Day

Onwards, Chalmers Innovation is hosting a Chalmers Innovation Demo Day @ Scandic Hotel Rubinen. Chalmers Innovations offers business coaching, lectures and networking events that allow teams to develop their ideas. At the Demo Day, teams that have worked for 10 weeks together will showcase their ideas to the public. Everybody interested in entrepreneurship, investments and business are all welcome to join. Great pitches, cool speakers and an after party is what the Demo Day promises.

Furthermore, TedXGöteborgSalon will be featuring during the #gbgtechweek @ Clarion Hotel Post. There will be streamed TED-talks, followed by discussions.
