In this Friday’s episode of Startupveckan podcasters Stefan Lundell and Olle Aronsson report that grocery delivery service Linas Matkasse, which is the market leader in Sweden, is up for grabs.
After earlier discussions about going public founders Lina Gebäck and Niklas Aronsson, together with venture investors Creandum and Acton Capital, have decided to sell the entire company instead.
The delivery service has a revenue around 500 million SEK on a yearly basis and is profitable. According to Startupveckan the owners are looking for a valuation around 450 million SEK.
Possible buyers are big Swedish retailers like Ica and Axfood (Hemköp, Willys) or foregin players like german competitor Hello Fresh which was valued around 6 billion SEK in an investment from Rocket Internet.
In this week’s episode Startupveckan also reveals what will be the name of their soon to come startup news site. The site will be called Breakit and is to launch within weeks.
