Cruited wants to enable people to get new jobs

Written by on January 15, 2015

The CV and cover letter are the basis of most job applications. So that’s where Cruited comes in. Cruited helps you maximize the impact of your job application by giving you a score and complete application review based on the job you’re applying for. We caught up with Erik Fors-Andrée, CEO at Cruited.

Cruited helps you maximize the impact of your job application by giving you a score and complete application review based on the job you’re applying for

“Applying for a job is a major pain, whether you have a job or not. At least 30%, up to 75% of people according to some studies, want a new job. Only 10% of people act on it. People are stuck because the barriers to a new job are too high. On top of that, professional help is unaccessible and has a bad reputation. We enable people to take action and make a move in their career. “

There are many different platforms where you can present yourself to get noticed. From the traditional resumé and cover letter, to video applications, to LinkedIn or GitHub. However, you are still stuck with the same problem: What do I do to stand out from the crowd? Erik continues:

“I believe that anything that helps people do more of what they like, will have a huge impact. Having a job you like makes you happier, and makes organizations more successful. Less sickness, less depression; more productivity, more creativity. I’m sure that in the long run this has positive impact on anything from welfare to GNP.”

Whilst there is little doubt CV review is an important, and sought after service – the big question is whether Cruited can build a scalable business out of this idea. Whether or not this problem (bad CV’s) will be solved by an algorithm is still up in the air.

  • Great post :) Thanks for this.
Just a small but substantial correction: We are not using an algorithm. Personally, I don’t think an algorithm can solve the problem with bad CVs. There’s more to read about how we do what we do here (in Swedish): https://cruited.com/var-metod/
