Are you looking for an apartment? Hittebo at your service

Written by and on October 14, 2014

Hittebo is a service that helps people hunting for apartments, which includes pretty much everyone in Stockholm. Almost. Anyway, the idea is to source opportunities found in social networks: apartment seekers can register their interest on homes of friends and friends-friends. This means there will always be a common connection between the landlord and tenant, giving some kind of security for both parties.

As you’ve probably experienced, posting on Facebook is a popular way of searching and renting homes. There are a variety of Facebook groups with property listings for various cities and regions. Hittebo was developed by Lowe and Erik, in an attempt to make it even easier. When users connect to Hittebo via Facebook the service creates a network where people with common friends are connected. The common friends are used as a reference for the selection and preparation of the lease.

The service is now available throughout Sweden, and with close to 1 million friends in the network becomes new homes available each day.
