Written by on September 29, 2014

The number of electric vehicles (EVs) is growing around the world in an increasing pace, thanks to aggressive players such as Tesla Motors as well as the technical development in general. One bottleneck however, is the limited coverage of charging stations.

This is where Chargestorm comes into the picture. Chargestorm is a Swedish cleantech company based in Norrköping with a competitive solution for EV charging, which has recieved attention from Volvo among others.

Now Chargestorm launches an app that will make it easier for businesses to charge for charging (no pun intended). According to the company, it has become a success in Norway and it’s now ready for the Swedish market.

Chargestorm claims that the list of B2B customers is growing fast. Patrick Lindergren, CEO at Chargestorm: “We currently have over 20 customers in Sweden that use our web-portal. Together they have conducted charging over 50,000 times, which are documented in our database. To this date, all customers offer have offered this service for free. A natural next step is to introduce a convenient way for them to charge for the service.”

The payment solution has been developed in cooperation with WTW, a Norwegian company that focuses on ticketing systems.

Chargestorm is definitely a company that you would like to have on your radar if you are into cleantech. With that being said, the market is still young. But when it takes of Chargestorm will have a good position with a portfolio that includes charging stations, systems for operation and monitoring and now – a payment solution.
