On September 25-26th, Derek Andersen, founder of Startup Grind, is coming to Sweden on his first trip to visit chapters outside of the U.S. Alongside Stockholm and Gothenburg, the cities of Dublin, London and Tel Aviv will have the honor of his presence for a few days.
The Silicon Valley hype, values like giving before taking, making friends rather than contacts and it’s scalable technical platform, are according to the founder two of the secret sauces that has led to the organization’s exponential growth. Today with chapters in 125 cities in 55 countries with 100 000 entrepreneurs at their monthly events, Startup Grind, one of two global communities powered by Google for Entrepreneurs, is becoming an impactful force to connect people and create value across borders and cultures.
Brought to Sweden early 2013 by Jonas Almeling and Creandum’s Joel Eriksson Enqvist and myself, Stockholm was the third chapter in Europe and the first in the Nordics. Ever since, we’d like to humbly believe that the 12 events we have poured our souls into, have played a supporting role for the growing community during the refreshing wave of distruptive innovation that has sweeped across the Nordic culture in the past year.
Join us as Derek, who has interviewed all the big names in the U.S., hosts fireside chats on Nordic innovation’s competitiveness with John Elvesjo, co-founder of Tobii on September 25th in Stockholm. And on how to build a sustainable startup community with Per Jonsson, co-founder of Sandbox, YEoS, Jumpstarter and Selfhackers on September 26th in Gothenburg.
