Starting this fall Upplands Energi will offer Ngenic Tune to their customers, the “Nordic Nest” we’ve previously written about. The product has been claimed to improve the indoor climate and reduced energy bills, through using weather forecasts and sunlight measurements in combination to an advanced algorithm.
“Our strategy as a utility is to provide good energy products to our customers. Ngenic Tune is a very good example of how modern technology can both make life easier and save money for our customers.” – Joacim Eronen, CEO Upplands Energi
This is an important step for the cleantech startup, as Upplands Energi has extensive experience of distributing heat pumps, Solar PV and other extended energy services to individuals and businesses.
“Ngenic strives to design products and energy services that make life easier while contributing to a sustainable future. It’s an important acknowledgement when a utility wants to offer our product to their customers.” – Björn Berg, Chairman of Ngenic AB
According to the press release, this might lead to a deepened cooperation where the Ngenic Tune platform is embedded into other types of smart energy services, such as offering discounts on heating during certain times throughout the day as the network load or electricity prices varies.
