Stena Innovationsdag is held every year by Chalmers Innovation, as an inspiration for entrepreneurs as well as investors. This year it was combined with Demo Day, the day when the teams from Chalmers Innovation’s latest Startup Camp pitch their business ideas and present the progress they have made in their 10 week camp.
On May 20th, 13 teams were ready with everything from software for 3D printers to an online art marketplace. And besides seeing the young entreprenurs, the about 200 visitors could hear Caroline Krensler, CEO of Vinngroup, speak about success factors when doing business, and Johan Carlsten, vice principal of Chalmers, underline the importance of collaboration between incubators and universities. On top of that, Roberto Bonanzinga, partner in Balderton Capital, flew in from London to answer many questions on the relation between startups and those who invest in them.
The show ended with an awards ceremony. The audiences price for best pitch was awarded to Umara, who with exemplary energy presented their products to increase athletes performance. Best camp team this semester was not one, but two! SIGMASTOCKS with their smart systems for saving money in stocks, and Parakey with their cloud based service for access without keys or cards. The two teams win a trip to Silicon Valley where they will meet successful entrepreneurs and investors.

Afterwards the guests enjoyed food, drinks and networking with Chalmers Innovation at Stena Center. It was a much appreciated party where both business talks and many games of FUTCHI took place. There was no doubt that the day was a smash hit, when the participants gave their feedback, close to 100 % stated that they were satisfied!
