Is FRA-Lagen the reason we have so many media streaming start-ups?

The new bill, informally known as the “FRA law” (Swedish: FRA lagen), proposed changes in the defence intelligence act, the electronic communications act, the secrecy act of 1980. These changes would have allowed the FRA to monitor both wireless and cable bound signals passing the Swedish border without a court order,[24] while also introducing several provisions designed to protect the privacy of individuals, according to the original proposal.

I’m convinced that if FRA-lagen didn’t exist, there would have never been the so-called “Netflix [and HBO] Effect” in Sweden. So I’m going to go with YES! Startups like Spotify definitely capitalized on that legislation.
