Last night the entire Stockholm startup community gathered to celebrate the launch party of SUP46 (Start-Up People of Sweden), Stockholm’s new co working space and “physical home” for Swedish entrepreneurs. Daniel Ek, founder of Spotify, kicked off the opening ceremony and was also appointed as the first inductee into the Swedish Startup Hall of Fame.
For those who may not know, SUP46 is a fantastic initiative spearheaded by Jessica Stark, Sebastian Fuchs and Nathalie Nylen – who wanted to bring Stockholm’s startup community together – and give Stockholm-based entrepreneurs a central meeting place. The company, and space, is backed by MTGx, Schibsted, Creandum, Northzone and many more – all of whom were in attendance last night. It was a pretty amazing event, with over 300 people at the party, not to mention the hundreds that were not able to attend due to capacity restrictions.
Our vision is to make Stockholm the number one startup city in the world. Though Stockholm is one of the world’s leading startup hotspots, the lack of a centrally located meeting & co-working space for the startup community has been obvious. SUP46 will become an important part of the ecosystem to contribute to more Swedish success stories, says Jessica Stark, CEO and Co-founder of SUP46.
Photos from the event will be posted shortly…
