Truecaller (who we’ve written about a few times), a global phone directory, announced a while back their recruitment of Mahmoud Al-Qadah, as their first Jordanian Brand Ambassador. I wanted to write about this, because I believe that brand ambassadors can play a vitally important role for tech startups, as they scale globally. Time will tell, but for Truecaller to have people in various markets helping to push their brand -it seems like a solid move.
As one of the admins of Jordan’s largest BlackBerry fan page, Mahmoud is no stranger to the world of technology and mobile apps. Having had formerly worked as a marketer for Massaya TV in Jordan, Mahmoud is concentrating on networking on an international level, and becoming one of Jordan’s youngest business men.
As a brand ambassador, Mahmoud will improve the Jordanian user experience and help introduce the phone directory app by becoming the middleman between Truecaller and Jordan. Mahmoud will be joining a team of 16 brand ambassadors from all over the world, including Arabic ambassadors from Lebanon and Egypt.
Truecaller marketer Lindsey LaMont commented:
We have an amazing Arabic speaking brand ambassador team with Mahmoud in the mix. We will have more voice for BlackBerry users in the Middle East with Mahmoud owning the largest Jordanian BlackBerry pin fan page, and Lebanese ambassador Bash K. Osman owning the largest BlackBerry pin site in Lebanon.”
