Abios Gaming helps you follow competitive gaming from around the globe

Written by on September 2, 2013

Today I’m talking with Anton Janér, a Stockholm-based entrepreneur who is a part of Abios Gaming – a company that are building a ‘new way to keep up to date with competitive gaming’. The Abios site functions as a ‘e-calendar’ of what is happening in the competitive-gaming world, where you can even follow live streams.

Tell me about your background – why are you an entrepreneur?

All of us have parents who are entrepreneurs and we all grew up in an encouraging environment for creating and believing in our ideas. That, in combination with wanting to simplify the searching and sharing of our gaming passion, is why we’ve created Abios.

What is Abios and what problem do you solve?

Abios wants to be the best way to keep up with competitive gaming. It’s mainly a calendar website for the eSports. We cover current and upcoming matches in addition to providing relevant information. Furthermore, you can watch the matches live and keep up with ‘main events’. Abios solves the problem of finding relevant information about competitive gaming. There has been difficulties in finding information, since you have to visit several websites and finding information for several games at once is nearly impossible. We provide easier navigation and relevant information, all in one place.

Tell me about the team and the company origins

We are all friends who shared the frustration of information searching in the eSport scene. We realized something was missing for eSports coverage that other athletic sports have. That is how it started. Two of us go to the Stockholm School of Economics and one of us attends the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH). We possess the economic and technical knowledge required for creating and running this site and we are also currently working with a professional gamer who has an exceptional intuition for gaming needs.

What are the plans for the next 6 months?

We are currently providing this information for Starcraft II, League of Legends, Dota 2 and Heroes of Newerth. Next up is adding more games without affecting the easy navigation and clean design. We will also be adding more user customization options and a lot of new features.

Thanks Anton!
