Tictail have announced that they are opening up their API and looking at bringing on developers who want to build apps for the Tictail App Store. Tictail continue to impress – the store numbers keep rising and the press keeps rolling in, but despite the buzz – there will be a great opportunity for developers to get in early. I’m told that the model for apps will be similar to Apple’s, so whilst Tictail will be taking a healthy cut of all app sales – those developers that get in early should be able to get some significant traction on their apps amongst the 18,000 registered Tictail users. On the other hand, apps is clearly a critical part of Tictail’s business model moving forward, so it’s going to be interesting to keep track on the App Store. Currently Tictail have in-house apps for domain names, Klarna invoicing, discounts and password protection.
From the Tictail Developers site:
A Tictail app could be anything. Digital downloads, gift vouchers, Facebook stores, retargeting, label printing, CRM, email tools. It’s all up to you.
Tictail inform me that they will be slowly accepting developers, so if you’re interested, sign up to be get in line here.
