Truecaller is one of those startups that seems to be flying under the radar, despite boasting seriously impressive numbers. Truecaller was founded in 2009 as a simple and more effective way to quickly look up phone numbers. To do this, they built a global directory of phone numbers and a number of apps to make it painless to find out who is calling you. Truecaller has apps for iOS, Android, Blackberry and Windows Phone, currently has 13million users and a massive half a billion numbers in the directory.
I caught up with Lindsey LaMont, one of the Marketers at Truecaller for a quick chat.
What problem does Truecaller solve?
We are striving to be world’s the largest global phone directory, while at the same time filling the gap between lack of data in other countries.
Tell us a little about the team.

How have customers responded to the product so far?
Truecaller is not just an app, it is something that helps people in their daily lives. Whether it is regaining contacts of old friends, screening calls, protecting against spam numbers, or even a business man knowing the identity of who is calling him; Truecaller has a purpose for everyone who owns a smartphone.
What are the next steps for you guys?
We want to make Truecaller the top-of-mind choice when it comes to name and number search. So no matter where you are, wanting to look for a number local or globally, it will not be a problem.
